TextTest Tutorial
- A laptop is not absolutely essential as it will hopefully be possible to share.
- If you do have a laptop please bring it. You will probably get further with the exercises, and hence get more out of the tutorial, if you install some things beforehand. We are however prepared to spend some time helping people with installation if needed.
Full installation instructions can be found on the TextTest homepage
The main things to have are Python (2.4/2.5/2.6, note *not* Python 3!) and PyGTK (with GTK+ 2.10/2.12 preferably, newer versions have bugs that affect Texttest, though they do broadly work).
In addition to the requirements to run Texttest, the exercise makes use of Bazaar version control and the GCC compiler, which it would also be helpful to have installed.
- We are likely to be most help for people with Linux or Windows laptops. Unfortunately Mac users will mostly need to infer what to do from instructions on these platforms, and if all else fails, share with somebody using Linux or Windows.
