EuroPython 2009 Organisers
This is a convenient place to collect together things the volunteer organisers are doing for EuroPython 2009.
VolunteersByActivity: Who is helping with what
IdeasForTalks: People we were going to invite
GettingStarted: The page we started off with
Feedforward things to bear in mind for next year
Activities
RespondingToSubmissions: A sample e-mail containing the info that needs to be sent back in responses to talk/tutorial submitters.
TalkSchedulingConstraints: A list of known constraints for when scheduling the talks
WikiToDo: The place to note down improvements for this site (instead of writing e-mail or telling people on IRC #europython)
Programme Booklet: Draft and info for the programme booklet
Meetings
There are organisers' meetings on IRC, currently every week, on FreeNode, channel #europython.
IrcLogs: Logs of our IRC meetings
MeetingActions: Decisions and Action Points from the meetings
The next meeting is on Tuesday 23rd June 2009, at 17:00 BST, 18:00 CEST.
At this meeting we will use the system we used at previous meetings: a standard syntax to automate reporting the important points of the meeting.
- The Chair will start and end the meeting with #startmeeting and #endmeeting respectively.
- Each attendee should report in by saying PRESENT.
- Apologies will be given by saying APOLOGIES name
- Topics will start by the Chair saying TOPIC description of Topic
- Decisions will be recorded by saying DECISION description of Decision
- Actions will delegated by saying ACTION name(s) of actionees, description of Action
- Votes will be initiated by the Chair saying VOTE description of item being voted on
- Attendees will vote in the usual way, that is +/-1
- Votes will be finished by the Chair saying ENDVOTE
- Attendees may record an Idea related to the current topic by saying IDEA description of idea
- The Chair may record agreement on an Idea by saying AGREED idea
The keywords are:
- PRESENT APOLOGIES IDEA (everyone)
- TOPIC DECISION ACTION VOTE ENDVOTE AGREED (Chair)
This concept is cribbed from the mootbot used by Ubuntu, unfortunately they have not published the source. At this stage we will try it out by analysing the IRC log with a Python program.
